The AR 9 platform has rapidly gained popularity in recent years. It is well-loved by the firearms community for its extremely low recoil and low cost of shooting. The “AR Rifle Platform” is a generic term for any type of firearm with a specific set of design features. This is a similar idea to a 1911 pistol for example. The 1911 design is over 100 years old, however, it’s still very popular today and there are thousands of companies around the world making various models of them.
The AR rifle is a very similar idea. The “9” in AR 9 generally refers to the fact that these guns use pistol magazines (Commonly Glock) and shoot pistol ammunition, but the functionality remains the same among all AR-style rifles. AR 9s do not have a gas system which makes their operation very simple. AR 9s tend to be lighter and have much more mobility than their bigger counterparts, the AR15, and AR10.
Also, the fact that they shoot pistol cartridges allows them to be used at indoor gun ranges that only allow pistol shooting. These are very unique and versatile firearms.
